Coro Allegro's season begins with the Boston premiere of Andrew Yee’s Trans Requiem on Sunday, November 22, 2026, at 3 PM at the Church of the Covenant. The concert features two-time GRAMMY Award-winning cellist and composer Andrew Yee, soprano Breanna Sinclairé, and tenor Sam Crosby-Schmidt. The work, developed for trans voices, mixed chorus, and string orchestra, celebrates the beauty, resilience, and diversity of the trans experience. Commissioned and premiered in 2025 by Trinity Church in New York City, Trans Requiem was described by Trinity Director of Music Melissa Baker as “a space to mourn the lost, honor survival, and imagine a future where trans lives are honored and cherished.”
The program also features Ola Gjeilo’s gorgeous Sunrise Mass and the presentation of Coro Allegro’s Pinkham Award to The Theater Offensive Executive Director and Boston Trans Day of Remembrance vigil co-chair Giselle Byrd.
