Auditions: Come Sing with Us!
The audition is approximately 15 minutes and consists of a range check, vocalizing, pitch recognition exercises, and sight-singing. You do not need to prepare a solo piece.
Coro Allegro rehearses most Sunday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. in Bates Hall at Church of the Covenant, located at 67 Newbury Street (corner of Berkeley Street) in Boston’s Back Bay. Rehearsals will occur on Monday evenings on weekends with a Monday holiday.
During the 2025-2026 season, Coro Allegro presented three concerts in Boston and Cambridge, performing works by Vierne, Lauridsen, Iliya, Whitbourn, Bernstein, Ives, and Van Ness. We also performed at the Pride Flag Raising at Boston City Hall, Creative Sector Advocacy Day at the State House, and Boston Fleet Pride Night in Lowell, where a quartet from the chorus sang the national anthem.
Next season, we will perform the Boston premiere of two-time GRAMMY Award-winning composer and cellist Andrew Yee's Trans Requiem in November at the Church of the Covenant, Robert Stern's monumental Shofar in March at Sanders Theatre, and a new commission by Beirut-born composer Ilyas Iliya in May, returning to the Church of the Covenant.
